If you have never seen A League of Their Own, now is the time to watch it. In this time of the COVID virus, it may be the only baseball you get to this season. Just in case you have not watched it yet, it is about the all American Girl's Professional Baseball League. Watching Rosie O'Donnell, Madonna and Geena Davis star in this movie is worth the price of admission. OMG I actually almost forgot to mention Tom Hanks whose line "There's no crying in baseball" has become a classic.
Sadly, Mary Pratt one of the original players, a pitcher who started with the Rockford Peaches recently passed away. She was 101. We thank her for sharing her athletic talent with us and being an inspiration to young female athletes. May she rest in peace.
