The Glass Kitchen

The Glass Kitchen, interesting title for a book. The surprise, it refers to a restaurant. The main character, Portia, has a special gift that is passed down through the women of her family.  Her grandmother had it and she discovers she has it.  The gift is knowing exactly what food a person needs before they know they need it.  Food has special meaning in people's life and she gets that.
Portia

When we first introduced to Portia her life is in shambles.  She leaves Texas where she grew up and ends up in New York City.  Her sisters had left Texas for New York long ago so it was only natural she follows them.  Their lives are in crisis as well and they end up helping each other.  Along the way there is healing and new love.  After reading the book on Nixon and Watergate and the book on baseball legend it was nice to have some lighter reading. I really enjoyed this book.
